Why New Concrete Is Not Finished Concrete
A slab that will hold a car at the two-week mark still is not done becoming concrete. Curing is a chemical process, cement hydrating with water into the crystalline structure that gives the material its strength, and it runs on its own clock. Strength is only half the story for floors. The bigger issue is water.
